Melodious Fonk is a new author's project by jazz drummer Borislav Petrov, through which he expresses both his love for funk music and his unquenchable desire to play in front of a dancing audience. The music, written by him, is for three guitars and a saxophone and is a mythological meeting between Thelonious Monk and James Brown on the ocean shore of rhythm and improvisation.

Borislav Petrov is a drummer and composer with 30 years of professional experience. He works in the styles of jazz, ethno-jazz, big band, fusion, world music, electronics, rock, pop, etc. Along with numerous stage appearances, participation in a number of international music projects and groups, as well as a discography of over 30 albums. Among his current authorial projects are the ethno-jazz formation Jazzanitza, the swing group The Oldie Goldies, the funk project Melodious Fonk and the electronic duo with beatboxer Skiller - Asymmetronica.
The event is the first concert of this year's Sofia Jazz Days program of DzaZZ + and is part of the Summer Program of the Sofia Municipality.
